The irony.

You are right. It is ridiculous to discuss the option of Ukraine joining NATO. It’s reprehensible behaviour and needs to be punished by a beacon of morality none better than Russia under Putin.

Much better to invade Ukraine and make it part of NATO. Oh, yes Russia did that, not NATO.

It’s justifiable for Russia to invade a sovereign nation when it doesn’t like what it discusses and with whom. Sweden and Finland reacted straight away: begging for immediate integration with Russia. What? Admission to NATO?They should be punished too. But alas Putin’s cheap war-meat was already committed to punish Ukraine.

History has shown us how oppressed Westerners have always been fleeing the Nazi West to join Russia. Russia had to build a wall to ensure that Westerners could not illegally enter that beacon of justice, equality, prosperity and morality. They even had to shoot hundreds of Westerners climbing the wall risking their life to get to Russia.

NATO was not even interested in Ukraine’s wish to join.

But you are right. It isn’t about what’s good for Ukraine, NATO or Russia. It is about what is good for Putin...and from that point of view, yes, Ukraine discussing integration with Europe and NATO, is a personal afront, that needs to be quashed. Putin can use the cheap lives of its soldiers, its Wagner mercenaries, that useless meat of its prisoners as war-fuel.

Scores of these new potential conscripts are now queueing up... at… you wouldn’t believe it …. freshly new NATO-partners: Finland and Sweden.

Ungrateful traitors. Incredible that people like that exist in such an exemplary country.

The irony.
