The US and its Cognitive Dissonance.

The conviction that Americans live in the greatest nation will result in its downfall. The result of the extreme cognitive dissonance between the conviction of living in the greatest country on earth, the land of the free and of opportunity on the one hand, and the reality of being poor, unhappy, stressed and without opportunity and hope on the other.

The distance between the American Utopia sold for over a century to the American people as ‘reality’ and the everyday reality that h

of every day, has become too great. People can no longer keep the idea of Utopia-reality on the one hand and the factual reality on the other in their head at the same time. The stress created by this cognitive dissonance is about to break-down into a full-on national psychosis.

The American political and corporate establishment have had a great 100 year run brainwashing the people with the mantra of the American Dream. The dissonance rubber band is now stretched to its limits and the incumbent President rightfully sees this as an opportunity to turn the USA into an autocratic state like Russia or China. Apparently democracy only brings elitist corporate self-serving entanglement. Time to get rid of it.

If you strongly believe something but reality clashes with your belief, than you will start justifying why your belief is still correct. I do it and most likely you do it too.
