The problem with complex stories is that the simple of mind will only see confirmation of their biases. This film is indeed a multi- layered story, serious and sad whilst darkly humorous. The existential crisis we prefer not to see when the system we live in let's us down and conspires against us, i often think its a wonder that America has not more and greater tragedies.

Such a harsh society with so many weapons. If all these angry people get together, get organized and lift their weapons in their angry hands against the system, who knows what would happen.... well those of us who have studied some history have some idea, the point is that the angry people do not, or they do and that's exactly what they want: power through violence.

Well that's my confirmation bias anyway.
