The difference(s) between sociopath and psychopaths are, I believe, not as simple as that a psychopath is simply the murderous version of the sociopath. The difference has more to do with nature (psychopath) and nurture (sociopath). Obviously there are overlaps that may reinforce certain traits and others that may dimish them, thus making a definition based on traits and behaviours complex. Without getting into these complexities (and I am no expert anyway), most psychopaths are not murderers but may have due to their different brain structure a higher propensity for criminal behaviour.
