The Democrats dug their own grave by not countering the GOP’s dumbing-down of the nation by not instilling critical thinking as the basis for all education programmes when they were in power. Dumb people are easier to manipulate for Democrat politicians too . The Democrats want it both ways and as is often the case when you want to have your cake and eat it too, you end-up with nothing (now I don’t get that saying either, why else would you want a cake if not to eat it, but there you go). In the meantime the GOP is changing America into a fascist state to protect the rich and powerful for ever and to get rid of these pesky elections. Fascism is supported by public discontent which is fanned by Trump himself (“There are good people on both sides” with 1 side peaceful protesters and the other side white supremacists, “Liberate Michigan” against public health measures, “Stand back and stand by” to white supremacists).

The Democrats only have themselves to blame for it. They betrayed the workers’ votes and supported the interests of corporations and of the rich and powerful over and above those of the poor and median income majority. No wonder they lose votes. So after seeing their support dwindle Democrats made the bombshell strategic decision to keep going down that same path of supporting corporate interests whilst spouting meaningless promises to the bored american people.
