Pets of people who LIVE there? You mean pets of LIVING people? Wow, thx for pointing that out. I would have assumed that they were only eating cats and dogs of people who do NOT live, let alone LIVE THERE where they eat cats and dogs. Normally Haitians eat pets of pet owners who do a lot of other things there, except living there. So we are talking about the pets of LIVING people? Not only do these LIVING people have cats and dogs you say, but they (the legal Haitian migrants) eat the pets only from these LIVING people and NOT from the dead pet owners (else why would you specify this detail, right?)! I can't get over it. Pets of LIVING people! It seems such a simple statement. Such a simple statement. So much to unpack. So brilliant!
