Maybe this charade incited by Trump (too incompetent for a coup) was only possible because 70 million people prefer a fantasy-world to the the real-world wherein their lives have been deteriorating over the past 45 years thanks to the 2 political parties - yup that’s 1 full party more than the next in line: North Korea - peddling to the whims of the 1% who fund their political campaigns (https://www.rand.org/pubs/working_papers/WRA516-1.html). Amongst those 70 Million fantasists are tens of thousands heavily armed extremists who feel that they have nothing to lose and only heroism/martyrdom to gain. And that is a danger of which the FBI and CIA have been warning for the past 10 years.
