On January 7, 2021 Ted Cruz was clear: on Twitter, in 2021, the day after the attack, he posted “The attack at the Capitol was a despicable act of terrorism and a shocking assault on our democratic system. We must come together and put this anger and division behind us. We must, and I am confident we will, have a peaceful and orderly transition of power.

Thanks Ted. That’s clear.

But hang on. No, it’s confusing. The reason that these “terrorists” attacked the Capitol is that they believed that Biden had stolen the election. They believed that massive voter fraud led to millions of Trump voters having been cheated by these conniving latte sipping, intellectual elite: the Democrats, with or without military satellites and Italians (Italy-gate) and/or smartmatic Venezuelan fraud (Sidney Powell).

Together with the other 146 Republicans in Congress, Ted Cruz voted against the certification of Biden as President. No evidence was ever produced to substantiate the claim of voter fraud and a ‘stolen election’. Cruz, and his fellow Republicans, simply claimed that the election was stolen from the Trump voters. The claim is the proof.

His anti-certification vote seems inconsistent with his condemnation of the the rioters who acted on his vote. His vote was his official declaration that the…
