I wouldn't think that it's either 'this' or 'perfection'. My point is that an audience more inclined to challenge their own biases has less interest in bias-confirming news-sites. Today's news networks and algorithms are all bias-confirming, because that's what the audiences want. If the audiences were more critical, news-sites and programmes would have to change (and would likely be less profitable).
