The negative feedback to Umair’s articles do not address his arguments.

The so-called ‘counter-arguments’ fall into 3 categories:

  1. the ‘it’s not true’ claim;
  2. name-calling such as ‘marxist’ and ‘toad’;
  3. the dumbest argument of them all: 'if-you-don’t like it, leave’.

Because the ‘counter-arguments’ are those of a 4-year old, Umair’s arguments appear more robust.

But those responses by 4-year olds show that those opposing Umair’s arguments do not posess the faculties to develop a valid argument or that they can even distinguish a valid argument from an invalid one.

The ‘mob’ is not ‘the people’ in a democracy. ‘The mob’ is close-minded people who lack the ability to think clearly for themselves, who let themselves be guided by their emotions and become sheep; who follow whomever makes them feel good and important in the moment. The core of his support? The extremely rich, the poor, the militia’s, the white supremacists, the conspirationists, the evangelicals. It’s all people who want power, people who want to belong to a sect, people who are unable to provide reasoned arguments. In other words: ‘the mob’.

The mob can be directed every wich way their leader wants. Trump and his ultra-rich backers know this. The mob follows its leader no matter what, whilst at the same time they believe that their slavish following equates to freedom. At least real sheep know they are sheep.

I trust that most Americans can think. I hope all of them will vote. Biden is not an inspirational leader who will develop a better more equitable America and many will have to dig up motivation from the depths of their souls to vote for such a middle-of-the-road career-politician co-responsible for the rise of Trump, but they must. The American system allows for no other option (no meaningful one). At least the Biden option provides the People with a chance to change the American system for the better.

Trump’s side, on the other hand, is raging-ready, like a blood-thirsty virus foaming at the mouth, to drive the stake through the irregularly beating heart of the patient they put in ICU.

I trust that the thinking majority will not sit back and wish that this little political virus will simply disappear in November…like magic.
