Great to see a presidential speech again. It’s been a while.
I have seven observations that I hope President Biden will consider for inclusion in his presidential to-do list:
- Ensure that all Americans are trained in Critical Thinking Skills and Tools,
- Re-design the US electoral system, including: a greater plurality of political parties and ending the electoral college system leaving the popular vote as the only way to designate the President,
- Ensure that democratic institutions can only be changed through a bi-partizan and/or independent vetting process,
- Political representatives cannot make religious references, this to enshrine the separation of state and religion and to minimize faith-based manipulation for political purposes,
- Healthcare for all.
- Basic income for all who need it.
- Education for all.
A healthy people, not stressed about basic necessities, that can get as educated as it wants, that knows their opinion counts and that, most importantly, can think well and independently, would make for an energized, positive, productive, innovative, competitive democracy.
It would Make America Really Great and Americans will truly have something to be proud of and give the rest of the world a shining example to aspire to.
As a minimum we can expect fewer voters arguing that “Trump is a man of God because God wanted him to be rich and He wouldn’t have wanted that if Trump weren’t a man of God” or the like.
