2-Party political establishment with the one guiding elite at work. And an audience that believes the two parties represent Good v Evil instead of both representing Vested Interests.
The Democratic party uses Science and reasoned argument to appeal to the educated middle class, whilst the Republicans use Myths and Emotions to appeal to the less educated poor (and directly to the rich). Both parties use their tools to further the interests of the Establishment. Democrats: "We will work with our Republican colleagues to achieve bi-partisan outcomes for the American People".
Republicans: "It is our duty to fight each and every proposal from the Democrats (even to the detriment of the American People)".
The Elite laughs with the Democrats and the Republicans. The posturing still works. We The People still think the parties are fighting for us.
